Seamstress / Costume Fabricator
Location: Morristown, TN

Overview
Wright Customs is seeking a skilled seamstress / costume fabricator to join our creative production team, specializing in custom mascots, theatrical costumes, cosplay, and specialty garments. This is a hands-on role for someone passionate about sewing, garment construction, and creative fabrication—bringing unique, one-of-a-kind characters to life.

We work on projects for theaters, events, attractions, and businesses, creating eye-catching, durable costumes that wow audiences and clients. If you have a background in industrial sewing, tailoring, or costume making, this could be your perfect next step.

Responsibilities

Construct and alter custom mascot suits, stage costumes, and specialty garments according to patterns, sketches, or prototypes.
Operate industrial sewing machines and hand-sewing tools for cutting, stitching, and finishing.
Cut patterns and fabric for garment assembly, including complex costume elements.
Perform costume alterations and repairs for proper fit, function, and durability.
Inspect all finished pieces for quality control and attention to detail.
Maintain an organized, safe workshop in our warehouse environment.
Work collaboratively with designers, pattern makers, and other costume technicians to meet deadlines.
Qualifications

Proven experience in garment construction, costume fabrication, tailoring, or alterations.
Skilled in industrial sewing machine operation and a variety of sewing techniques.
Experience in pattern cutting, fabric assembly, and hand sewing.
Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality craftsmanship.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced production shop while following safety protocols.
Bonus points for an artistic eye, creative problem-solving skills, or theatrical/cosplay costume experience.
